Take a look inside Louvre Abu Dhabi

Watch as we explore Saadiyat Island’s cultural centre

Louvre Abu Dhabi is home to hundreds of stunning works of art by star names that sit alongside ancient treasures.

If you haven’t made it to the Saadiyat Island museum yet, you really should pay it a visit, but until then take a look at our vlog exploring the incredible venue.

The beautiful Jean Nouvel-designed culture hub opened its doors for the first time in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength since then, with a constantly revolving selection of artworks and guest exhibitions creating something new for every visit.

One of the latest pieces or grace the gallery is Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Cabra, which will eventually be on display in the island’s Guggenheim museum.

There’s also a collection of Rembrandts and other paintings from the Dutch masters on show.

The building itself is also a work of art.  The roof is made from thousands of metal stars, and when the sun filters through the gaps, the effect is absolutely stunning.

Just walking around the promenade, looking out over the water and photographing the cool tree statue and other striking pieces of art is a brilliant start to your visit.

Then when you get inside, the collection of more than 600 incredible artworks and artefacts is out-of-this-world amazing.

Spanning whole centuries and civilisations, walking through the collection, spread over 6,400 sq m of gallery space, is an awe-inspiring experience. The pieces are arranged in chronological order, and the collection tells the story of humanity through 12 equally fascinating chapters.

Don’t just take our word for it, however, watch our vlog before booking tickets for yourself.
