If you’ve never heard of Kangoo Jumps then you might be intrigued by the concept.
The workout is held at The Beach Club at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana every Wednesday and involved strapping on two springy boots that make you jump like a, well, kangaroo.
The 5kg kangoo boots are used for a few different reasons – to reducing the impact of various exercises on the joints, they act as an extra weightlifting workout, and they engage your core.
At the weekly class, you’ll do a variety of cardio exercises designed to get you hot and sweaty, and ultimately more fit (they say you can burn more than 1,000 calories per hour…).
We thought that sounded like a good excuse to try so Shaikh and Harriet headed to the hotel in West Corniche to try it out.
Their instructor Hala put them through their paces with a high-intensity workout, which was as much fun as it was difficult.
