The summer season is here, and it seems everyone is jetting off on holiday over the next few weeks.
Abu Dhabi International Airport is certainly set to be busy, particularly over the long weekend for Islamic New Year.
Looking for ways to beat the queue? Look no further than the city check-in desks in Abu Dhabi.
Available for those flying with Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Egyptair, Etihad Airways and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, you can get your boarding pass and drop off your bags before you even step foot in the airport.
Here’s our quick guide to using the city check-in desks in Abu Dhabi this summer.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi
Passengers can use the Air Arabia city check-in desks from 36 hours up to eight hours before the flight departure time, with a price of Dhs20 per person.
There are four Air Arabia-only city check-in locations, each with different operating hours:
- Al Ain (open daily 9am-9pm)
- Hamdan Street, Al Danah (open daily 9am-10pm)
- Muroor Road, Al Nahyan (open daily 9am-9pm)
- Musaffah (open daily 9am-10pm)
As well as two city check-in desks available through Morafiq with different pricing (more on that in a moment).

Morafiq
Morafiq has partnered with four airlines operating out of Abu Dhabi – Air Arabia, Etihad Airways, Egypt Air and Wizz Air – to offer city check-in desks.
The service, which is available between 24 hours and four hours prior to flight departure, will set you back Dhs35 per person. The service is priced at Dhs25 for kids 12 and below, and Dhs15 for infants under the age of two.
There are two city check-in locations in Abu Dhabi:
- Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal, Marsa Mina (24/7)
- ADNEC Grand Stand (open daily 9am-9pm).
Those flying with Etihad Airways this summer will also earn 2,500 Guest Etihad Miles for using the city check-in desks.
