You can now pay by card in Abu Dhabi airport taxis

Fumbling around for change when you get back into Abu Dhabi after travelling is a thing of the past.

We don't know about you but we always end up running to an ATM to get money out for a taxi after landing at the airport - an extra hassle we could do without.

That’s why mobile apps like Uber and Careem have proved so popular, people can jump in a ride and pay digitally without having to count the notes in their wallet.

The good news is, when arriving in Abu Dhabi or returning from holiday, passengers in Abu Dhabi Airport Taxis will now be able to pay by card.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced that customers will also be able to pay using Apple and Samsung pay.

ITC has also announced that they are interested in implementing further online payment options in the future including ALI Pay and WeChat.

Maybe the rest of the taxi fleet will get the same technology soon? We can live in hope.
