You can now fly to Marrakesh from Abu Dhabi

While living in Abu Dhabi has plenty going for it, there's still nothing more exciting than a holiday.

We live in a place that's pretty much perfectly situated to see the world and now there is one more destination to get on your travel bucket list.

Turkish Airlines has announced a new route taking passengers from Abu Dhabi to Marrakesh, with a layover in Istanbul. The airline says direct flights may be introduced in the future, too.

We know we're looking forward to checking the flights out and heading to North Africa, but if you need to know more about the country then you have the perfect chance this weekend.

Morocco in Abu Dhabi, taking place from Wednesday (April 17) to Tuesday April 30 at ADNEC, is the place to be.

Returning for the fourth time, it is open to the public and showcases what the country has to offer travellers.

Visitors can learn about Moroccan architecture, music, art, food, cuisine, customs, traditions, fashion and watch live music performances and craft workshops.

If that’s not enough then you can visit a two-day Moroccan concert taking place on April 18 and 19 to see singers perform a range of traditional music and songs from 9pm.

On Tuesday April 23 there's a fashion show, and on Wednesday April 24 there's a cultural play.

Morocco in Abu Dhabi: Free entry. Apr 17-30, 3pm-9pm. ADNEC, Khaleej Al Arabi Street (800 23 632).
