You can now fly your golf clubs to Abu Dhabi for free with Etihad

Any golfers flying in to Abu Dhabi are in for a treat - as fees to travel with their clubs have now been scrapped by Etihad.

The capital's national airline wants to welcome golfers to the city's courses by helping them out with their fare.

There are stunning courses including Yas Links, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Al Ghazal and Abu Dhabi City Golf Club - all with a style of their own.

Hareb Al Muhairy, senior vice-president destination and leisure management at Etihad Airways, says: “The capital’s golf courses are some of the many highlights of a visit to the UAE and it is our pleasure to welcome and encourage golfers to the city.

The launch of this free service will encourage golf lovers worldwide to enjoy the sport with greater ease in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world."

Hala Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways’ destination and events division, is a member of The International Association of Golf Tour Operators, and offers bespoke group golf trips to the UAE.

Research has shown that golfers tend to stay in Abu Dhabi for longer than the average tourist, so attracting more to the capital seems like a no-brainer.

The new free allowance includes an additional golf bag containing one set of clubs, one pair of golf shoes, and a golf umbrella or parasol.

To avail the offer, passengers must book through Hala Abu Dhabi (golfbookings@halaabudhabi.ae) or Etihad Holidays at etihadholidays.com.
