So, to help you have the most fun possible in the capital, we’ve rounded up the best theme parks in Abu Dhabi.

Best theme parks in Abu Dhabi

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

What you can expect

Boasting the world’s fastest ride, highest rollercoaster loop, and first sideways coaster drop ride, you just know you’re in for high-octane action at this Abu Dhabi theme park.

Apart from the gravity-defying rollercoaster rides, there are loads of other Ferrari-driven activities to participate in, including going petal-to-the-metal in one of the iconic racing cars.

The Abu Dhabi theme park is divvied into five distinct zones, each offering unique experiences. There’s the Plaza, which hosts events and live performances, a Family Zone with loads of activities for younger visitors, the Racing Zone where you can ride rollercoasters or a scaled-down version of a Ferrari. There’s also the Italian Zone with its Ferrari factory and the Adventure Zone, which is full of thrills and perfect for those that have a need for speed.

Don’t forget to stop by Galleria Ferrari, too. Currently hosting the Scuderia Ferrari Champions exhibit, you’ll be able to relive the most notable moments in the brand’s F1 history and see the series of F1 Championship-winning cars on display.

Operating hours

One of the best theme parks in Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is generally open daily between noon and 7pm but operating hours are subject to, so it’s best to check the opening hours here before your visit.

Tickets

Day passes for Ferrari World Abu Dhabi start at Dhs250 for visitors shorter than 1.3m and Dhs325 for those that are taller, because certain rides have height restrictions. The park also offers discounted annual passes starting at Dhs995.

Snow Abu Dhabi

What you can expect

Promising piles of snow and fun, Snow Abu Dhabi – the latest theme park to open in the capital – offers visitors 9,732 square-feet of ice-cold entertainment.

A winter wonderland, the theme park (which operates at a chilly -2C at all times) is filled with over 20 rides and attractions, including carousels, slides, and zip-lining.

Some of the coolest rides include The Troll Bowl where you’ll get to roll down a snowy slope in a giant inflatable ball, the super-fast slide at Graupel’s Summit Escape, and the Flight of the Snowy Owl, a suspended roll-glider ride over the snow park.

For little ones, there are plenty of rides to enjoy too, including the Crystal Carousel, the Polar Express Train, and Snow Hare’s Bunny Hill where they can enjoy their first sleigh ride down a gently sloping hill.

Of course, Snow Abu Dhabi also has plenty of dining options, including a cute hot chocolate cart at the entrance – because what’s a snow day without a cup of cocoa?

The park is open daily from 10am-10pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tickets

A snow park pass, which includes entry to the snow park, unlimited access to the rides, fleece gloves, and a locker costs Dhs215.

While a snow premium pass, priced at Dhs295, includes entry, unlimited ride access, waterproof gloves, a hot chocolate, locker, and a meal at The Lodge Restaurant.

There’s also a two-day pass for Dhs295 and a family pass for five people for Dhs860.

Ticket prices include snow boots, disposable socks, and Snow Abu Dhabi trousers and jackets, as well as helmets for kids aged under the age of 13.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

What to expect

One of the best theme parks in Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is also the biggest. Not only in the city but globally – the gigantic indoor theme park is the largest indoor theme park in the world with over 60 rides, experiences, and live characters.

Covering 1.65 million square feet (yup, you read that right), the theme park in Abu Dhabi is made up of six themed lands, each with unique rides, activities, and all your favourite superheroes and characters.

There’s the Warner Bros. Plaza with its many shops and restaurants, and stages for live performances and other events. Bedrock where you can get your yabba-dabba-doos on with the Flinstones and go for a river adventure with our favourite Stone Age family and the wacky Dynamite Gulch filled with wild escapades and animated antics. In Cartoon Junction you can see what Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, and Scooby Doo are up to. Then meet the Dark Night in Gotham City and take a ride in the Batmobile. After that, head on over to Metropolis to meet Superman and the Justice League heroes.

The park is also working on a seventh offering: Harry Potter land where visitors will be able to enter a world of witchcraft and wizardry. There’s no opening date for Harry Potter land yet but keep an eye on the magic here.

The park is open daily from 11am-7pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am-8pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Yas Waterworld

What to expect

Offering a wave of a good time, Yas Waterworld is one of the best theme parks in Abu Dhabi, if not the UAE.

The largest waterpark in the region, Yas Waterworld makes a big splash with more than 40 rides and slides for young and old to enjoy, as well as an underwater VR experience, pearl diving experience, and Cinesplash – a 5D cinema experience with cutting-edge water effects and special effects, including waterfalls, moving seats, and water explosions.

There are also various pools to splash about in, including an infant paddling pool and a wave pool.

Yas Waterworld is open from 10am-7pm Saturday to Thursday and 1pm-10pm on Fridays.

A single-day pass is Dhs270 for adults and Dhs220 for kids.
