It’s looking like an exciting end to the year with so many big events still to come before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve.

And on December 2, The UAE will celebrate its 48th National Day across Abu Dhabi and all the emirates.

In the capital, a massive celebration has been announced at Zayed Sports City that will reflect on the nation’s achievements, heritage and traditions.

The celebration, named Legacy of our Ancestors, will feature immersive stories from the UAE’s past that use amazing effects, sounds and visuals to bring the tales to life on stage.

A series of live performances will also take place at the event to celebrate the achievements of the UAE since its unification in 1971.

Tickets to the event will go on sale today (September 30) at midday and are limited so if you want to attend you’ll have to act fast.

Saeed Al Suwaidi, representative of the organising committee of the official 48th UAE National Day Celebration, said: “The epic scale of this production, coupled with the rich tapestry of values derived from our most precious of stories, will ensure ‘Legacy of Our Ancestors’ reaches a theatrical level never experienced before in the UAE. The show will create a sense of pride, which will live for many years to come and serve as a fitting masterpiece for the official 48th UAE National Day Celebration.

“With more than 200 nationalities proudly calling the UAE home, our National Day remains a much-loved calendar date for Emiratis and expatriates alike. As Abu Dhabi continues to attract a growing number of regional and international visitors, we hope ‘Legacy of Our Ancestors’ will shine a greater light on the stories of our past that continue to shape our future.”
