Schools set for visits from four-legged friend to help with stress and a lack of confidence

A pack of friendly dogs are coming to Abu Dhabi to help children learn to read

If you’ve got kids then you’ll know all about Paw Patrol – in fact – you’re probably singing the theme tune right now.

Coming to the capital (on the double) a new pack of friendly dogs will be visiting schools and nurseries to help children with their reading. No, really.

Reading Dogs uses a team of canines to help children gain confidence when reading by trying it out with a good boy (or girl) by their side.

Established in Dubai in 2017, the group brings specially-trained dogs to academic venues on a weekly basis to deliver class sessions, one-to-ones, after school classes and assemblies.

From September, a newly established Abu Dhabi pack of friendly dogs will be available to visit children across the emirate.

The dogs will also be available for Happiness Sessions, to help promote wellbeing as well as art classes and helping students to overcome exam stress.

Five dogs will be among the pack in the capital including Tia the Bernese mountain dog, Minnie the French bulldog, Harvey the golden retriever, Vasya the Afghan hound and Adeline a mixed breed.

Don’t they sound like a nice bunch?

If the doggos want to come spend the day at the Time Out offices then we would be delighted.

Who’s a good boy?
