Kids can learn to cycle for free in Abu Dhabi this week

Children of all ages have sporting heroes such as Lionel Messi, Anthony Joshua, Mo Farah and the UAE’s own Zahra Lari.

So following the example of the best-of-the-best can help motivate kids to improve in any sport.

Inspiring young cyclists to gain more confidence on their bike and emulate the pros, UAE Team Emirates is hosting an open day on May 4 at Yas Marina Circuit as part of their Youth Academy programme.

The one-day event, aimed at kids between eight and 11, will see qualified instructors from the UK and UAE teach bike familiarisation, bike confidence and bike skills.

The day will finish off with a time-trial, designed to give aspiring cyclists the chance to show off their abilities.

Children can bring their own bikes and helmets, but equipment will also be provided to beginners on the day.

So if your child is desperate to saddle up, what better place to learn than on the track at Yas Marina Circuit?

Free. 3.30pm onwards, May 4. Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island, www.uaeteamemirates.com.
