Where to celebrate Easter in Abu Dhabi

Brunches, family fun days, afternoon teas and more in the capital

Where to celebrate Easter in Abu Dhabi

Easter is here and even though we’re enjoying stuffing our face with chocolate eggs there’s loads of great food on offer around the city that doesn’t come wrapped in foil.

Whether it’s a brilliant brunch, afternoon tea or a little bit of family fun you’re after, here’s what venues in Abu Dhabi have to offer this month.

If you’re lucky, you might even spot the Easter Bunny, too.

Afyä Beach Lounge
Who doesn’t love a barbecue? Get your grill on at Afyä Beach Lounge with an Easter-inspired edition of the venue’s barbecue brunch. Overlooking the canal, you can enjoy fresh seafood, Indian, Middle Eastern and Levantine grills and an Easter-themed desert display to top off the meal. While the adults eat, kids can get active and take part in an egg and spoon race, egg painting or burn of some energy on the bouncy castle.
Dhs141 (food only), Dhs71 (kids).  Apr 21 and 28, 12.30pm-3.30pm. Traders Hotel, Bain Al Jessrain (02 509 8555).

Artisan Kitchen

Need some egg-citement? At Artisan Kitchen there’s a 5kg chocolate egg up for grabs among the prizes if you’re a winner in the Easter egg hunt. Who wouldn’t want to win that? Away from the hunt there’s a host of international dishes on offer, fresh seafood, a carvery station and a selection of indulgent desserts on offer to give you energy for the egg hunt.
Dhs350 (house beverages). Apr 21, 1pm-4pm. Bab Al Qasr Hotel and Residences, Corniche West (02 205 3000).

Ginger All Day Dining
Take a break from the kids and enjoy an Easter lunch at Ginger Al Day Dining. While the little ones burn off some energy taking part in seasonal activities including a traditional egg hunt, egg painting, bouncy castle and kids’ corner, you can tuck in to your choice of starters, main, salads and desserts from the seasonal buffet. Bliss.

It’s a family affair at Ingredients as the Easter brunch serves up a seasonal edition of their signature weekly brunch. Explore what’s on offer from the venues live cooking stations before getting your fill of chocolate and Easter treats to spoil yourself. It’s not all about the food though with an Easter egg hunt, egg painting activities, face-painting and more to keep little ones (and big ones) busy.

Head poolside at La Piscine where you can forget about traditional food and enjoy an Easter barbecue where you can tuck into a selection of meats and seafood fresh from the grill. Once you’ve had your fill you can hit the dance floor as Cuban band Styles provide a Latin soundtrack to the night to encourage you to throw some shapes.

If you’ve overindulged with the sweet treats like the rest of us, then why not enjoy something more traditional to mark the occasion? At popular Irish pub McGettigan’s you can get stuck in to a leg of lamb marinated in rosemary and garlic, served with duck fat roast potatoes, green beans and carrot and swede mash all topped off with a rosemary jus (that’s fancy gravy to you and us) and mint sauce. We’re already loosening our belts in anticipation.
