This week's unmissable bar deals and events in Abu Dhabi

Sushi Sundays

Once everybody has demolished the seafood buffet, ladies can enjoy free-flowing beverages from 11pm onwards at Aquarium. DJ ClassyK provides the soundtrack as you take in the views over Yas Marina.
Sun 7pm-1.30am. Yas Marina, Yas Island (050 696 9357).

Miami nights
It’s easy to feel grumpy on Sundays, so it’s a good job we’ve got Trader Vic’s to liven up the start of our working week. The very slick and stylish Miami Nights evening features sensational tunes from DJ Saif & Sound, plus Cuban-inspired mixed drinks and all your favourite fusion bites. Pass the cheese balls, please.
Prices vary. Sun 9pm-2am. Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi, Al Zahiyah (02 697 9011).

Malt night

The ‘Malt Mondays’ deal at The Warehouse lets you try four different hops from around the world at a knockdown price. Suddenly Thursday isn’t our favourite night of the week anymore. Weird.
Dhs99 (four hops). Mon 8pm-1am. Pearl Rotana Capital Centre, Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (02 307 5591).

Grape Night

We love slick jazz bar Jazz & Fizz for the great views of downtown Abu Dhabi and the smooth tunes. The nightspot also makes hump day more bearable by offering 50 percent off main courses and bottles of grape.
Prices vary. Tue 7pm-3am. Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, Corniche Road (02 813 7777).

Quiz time
Viewz has karaoke, darts, live music and even a rodeo bull if you head over for one of the monthly country rock nights. Or, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a quiz wizz, you can give your brain cells a workout every Tuesday night. With prizes worth up to Dhs3,000 and 20 percent off food and drink, what have you got to lose?
Free. Tue 8pm-11pm. Cristal Hotel, Zayed The First Street 0(50 976 5454).

Aperitivo night

We don’t know about you, but we’re always proper hungry by the time it gets to 6pm. So during that confusing period between the end of work and dinner time, it’s often nice to have something to snack on. Stylish bar The Manhattan Lounge is offering complimentary Italian antipasti, pizzas, ravioli and much more when you buy two or more drinks every Wednesday.
Prices vary. Wed 6pm-8pm. The Manhattan Lounge, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi (02 498 8888).

Half Off, Half Day
Drinks are half price for a full seven hours at Appaloosa. Now you have one more excuse to go for a midday pick-me-up or post-work refreshment.
Prices vary. Sat-Wed, noon-7pm. Marriott Hotel Al Forsan Abu Dhabi, Khalifa City A (02 201 4000).

Mind the Gap
With The Beatles, Oasis, The Clash and many more, Britain has produced some brilliant music. The  Hamilton’s band are covering all the best hits at the weekly  Mind the Gap night.
Free. Wed 4pm-2am. Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas (02 697 0000).

Bingo night

Blu Sky Bar & Grill is proving that you don’t need to be over 70 to enjoy a game of bingo. But you’ll want to be paying attention, as there are some brilliant prizes to be won.
Thu 8.30pm-3am. Southern Sun Abu Dhabi, Al Zahiyah (02 818 4888).

Layali Dahab
There’s live music from singers Rawi Ismail and Noor Al Omar, plus a DJ and dance show at the Hilton venue’s Layali Dahab nights.
Dhs250 (set menu). Thu-Fri 10pm-3am. Hilton Capital Grand Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street Road (02 667 4446).

Liquid brunch

There’s nothing like spending a night in  a cosy English pub. There aren’t any chandeliers or gold furnishings at The Tavern, but you will find four hours of house bervages at a knockdown price.
Dhs149. Fri 4pm-8pm. Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort, Corniche Road (02 677 3333).

Even if you managed to do the unthinkable and go through a whole Friday without going for brunch, you can still get on board with the after-brunch package at Aqua. It includes two hours of free-flowing grapes and hops, plus tunes from the resident DJ.
Dhs145. Fri 4pm-6pm. The Rosewood Abu Dhabi, Al Maryah Island (02 813 5550).

Six Nations deals

NRG Sports Café claims to have the largest outdoor screen in the capital, and we can certainly believe it. It also has a special deal in honour of the Six Nations rugby, with a food platter and two hops on offer for a discounted price so you and your rugged rugger buddies won’t go without.
Dhs120 (food platter and two hops). Daily 4pm-2.30am. Until Mar 16. Le Méridien Abu Dhabi, Al Zahiya (02 644 6666).

Etihad offer
Lemon & Lime bar always offers great vibes and expertly made mixed drinks, but Saturdays are especially good for all Etihad Airways employees. Airline staff can make the most of a three-hour all-you-can-drink deal on house beverages, plus 40 percent off the food menu.
Dhs125 (unlimited house beverages). Sat 8pm-11pm. The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa, Khalifa City A (02 616 9999).
