Live music at Belgian Café Abu Dhabi
Love live music? Well, every Tuesday and Wednesday there’s music outside on the terrace at Belgian Café. Tuesdays see the silky vocals of Scotsman Mike Ross captivating the crowds, while on Wednesdays its the turn of Leanna Kerry, who always brings a songbook full of toe-tappers and singalongs to every occasion. The Laughter Factory at the Park Rotana
The Laughter Factory is back to lift us from the January blues, and the New Year Dissolution Tour looks like being one of the comedy club’s best-ever line-ups. Tonight’s gig at the Park Rotana features Canadian star Tom Stade, Scottish comedian of the year Larry Dean and British comedy icon JoJo Smith.

Watch Saudi Arabia play at Zayed Sports City

It’s a great time of year for all the football fans in Abu Dhabi, and there’s still chance to watch some of the action unfold in the AFC Asian Cup. Saudi Arabia take on Qatar tonight at Zayed Sports City Stadium at 8pm, after Oman and Turkmenistan battle it out at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.

Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship

Many of the world’s top golfers are in town for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, and we can’t wait to get involved. If you don’t have tickets you can always watch all the action from events lawn at The Westin. There are also food trucks, pop-up bars and live music.

Sustainable fun

The Festival at Masdar City is taking place this weekend (January 18 to 19). Abu Dhabi’s most eco-friendly area is hosting a great programme of family-friendly and educational activities, along with organic produce stands, workshops, music and food stalls.

The Best of Blighty Brunch at Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi
This one-off event celebrates everything that’s great about Great Britain. As well as all the traditional pub grub like roast meats, Yorkshire puddings, fish and chips with mushy peas and of course, plenty of cups of tea, there will also be a live band and lawn games to enjoy.

The AFC Asian Cup fan zones at A’l Bahar and Al Ain
To help fans get in the football spirit, tournament organisers have set up dedicated AFC City Fan Zones in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. At each Fan Zone there will be public screenings of the matches on giant screens, football-themed games for all the family and lots of entertainment.

Recycling In Art with Warehouse 421

Participants in this creative workshop use waste plastics to produce unique, upcycled pieces of art. Running as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, it’s free to visitors.
