This week, we’ve been busy celebrating Eid Al Adha.
Most of us have had a few days off work to mark the important holiday, which fell on Tuesday.
And now our attentions are turning towards another Abu Dhabi weekend.
While some of the capital’s fine residents will have embarked on some travelling over the break, there are still plenty of us left behind looking for things to do this weekend.
With that in mind, here are a few of our top tips.
Catch the Eid Al Adha fireworks at Yas Marina
It’s not a big occasion without a stunning fireworks display, right?
Well, the third and final sparkling show in honour of Eid Al Adha will light up the skies above Yas Marina tonight, August 23.
These displays are always popular for other public holidays throughout the year and are truly a visual feast.
Starting at 9pm, you can catch them from pretty much anywhere on Yas Island, but we recommend enjoying them as you dine at one of the island’s great eateries.
Italian favourite Cipriani’s has an awesome terrace which is perfectly suited for such an evening.
The promenade at Yas Marina is another great place to catch the action.
Or they can be enjoyed on board a traditional dhow with Captain Tony’s Eid Fireworks Fun Cruise, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, costing Dhs100 per adult and Dhs50 per child above the age of six years old.

Whether you’re into old school games such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario, or into the latest blockbuster games, there’s something for everyone.
From August 22 to September 1, the festival will combine cosplay, fun multi-player tournaments, retro arcades, esports and virtual reality, inviting players of all ages to game together.
Parents will also be able to enjoy learning about kid-friendly games and educational gaming, as well as tips for controlling play time for each age group.

It’s a great time right now to bag yourself a bargain on a luxurious stay at one of Abu Dhabi’s many awesome hotels.
Lots of them have great offers on at the minute, meaning you can get away from it all with an affordable and unforgettable staycation.
