An inspiring sporting week for women is being hosted by Abu Dhabi this year

With International Women’s Day around the corner, the spotlight is on the incredible achievements of women across the world this month, and to lead the empowering movement in the UAE, HH Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has announced an exciting new sports event for women.

The event aims to celebrate and champion women in sport and will take place across an entire week in November 2020.

It will invite both local international guests to attend motivational sporting events while also hosting the International Conference of Sports for Women and the Fatima bint Mubarak World Sports Awards.

HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has called especially on women in the UAE to participate, as the initiative aspires to bring together a whole host of like-minded women to celebrate their achievements and inspire a new generation of female sports stars.

The collaborative event is being led by the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA) and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC). Commenting on the upcoming week of celebrations, the organisers said: "Since the inception of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy we have made it our mission to continuously create countless opportunities for women to participate in sports. We commit to keep passionately supporting the rise of inspirational leaders in the sports industry, both here in the UAE and globally. I call on you to join us in playing a key role in shaping the future of women’s sports."

While November may still be a little while away, guests can already register to attend via the website as the event is set to be in high demand. So book your entry while you can.
