Abu Dhabi rumoured to takeover another Premier League football club

Since Manchester City were bought by The Abu Dhabi Group in 2008 it’s been a dramatic change of fortune.

Four league titles were won, including a first-of its kind domestic treble and the arrival of world-class players have transformed the club and the city.

Now another English team could be about to be transformed as Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan is in talks to buy Newcastle United.

The Magpies are currently under the ownership of Mike Ashley who has been the majority shareholder since 2008.

Sheikh Khaled is a relative of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour and the founder of the Bin Zayed Group.

An official announcement is yet to be made by Newcastle United or the Bin Zayed Group and any deal agreed will also have to be approved by the Premier League.

Either way, it’s sure to be an interesting season ahead for Newcastle United next year.
