TriYAS twilight triathlon returns to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit

Fancy yourself as a bit of an athlete? How about a tri-athlete?

The TriYAS triathlon is back in Abu Dhabi and now’s your chance to show off your physical prowess in the mass sporting event which promises to push you to your very limits.

The swimming, cycling and running challenge will see more than 1,500 athletes from around the region and beyond take to Yas Marina Circuit on Friday February 15.

Registration to the event is now open and first timers are being encouraged to get stuck in.

This year there’s a new Super Sprint difference which includes a shorter course aimed at newbies and younger athletes.

Participants will be able to take on a 375m swim in Yas Marina, a 10km cycle on the iconic Yas Marina Circuit and finish their efforts with a 2.5km run.

In addition to the new Super Sprint category, experienced adult competitors can choose from two distances: the Olympic category, which covers a 1,500m swim, 38km cycle and 10km run, and the shorter Sprint category, involving a 750m swim, 22km bike course and 5.5km run.

The KidsTRI, for kids aged nine-16, is also back for 2019. Young triathletes can choose to compete in a 100m swim, 6km cycle and a 1.5km run, 200m swim, 9km cycle and a 1.5km run or a 200m swim, 9km cycle and a 2.5km run.
