The best furniture stores in Abu Dhabi
Crate and Barrel
If you enjoy the finer things in life, you’ll no doubt be familiar with Crate and Barrel. The high-end furniture store stocks a variety of quality designer pieces that are sure to make a statement in any home. It’s well worth it if you want to invest in some key classics around which to style the rest of the room.
…or CB2
If you’re in love with Crate and Barrel, but not the price point, you might want to check out CB2, the brand’s edgier, ever-so-slightly more affordable sibling. If you’re willing to drive down to Dubai, you can find a CB2 showroom at Mall of the Emirates.
H&M Home
If you’re looking for cool, colourful décor and accessories that won’t break the bank, H&M Home is the place to go. The collections change regularly, which means you will always be able to pick up something pretty and the basics are really good, too. In particular, it’s a great option if you’re shopping for lamps, vases, candlesticks, and kitchenware, and we loved the dried flowers on offer here.

Home Centre
Founded in Sharjah in 1995, Home Centre is a local furniture store offering both contemporary and classic designs at budget-friendly price points. The selection includes a huge number of pieces in every style and colour imaginable (including some very cool on-trend lamps that look like designer pieces for under Dhs200), allowing you to mix and match to create a unique interior style that expresses your personality in your new home.

HomeKode
This contemporary furniture store is a great option if you are in the market for unique, on-trend pieces such as boucle sofas, farm-style wood furniture, ceramics, and mirrors (in particular, the standing arch kind). Textured, organic pieces, from wood to rattan, marble and stone is what they are best known for – and with good reason. If modern minimalism and biophilic design is your thing, this is the place to go.
Houmata
Houmata stocks a wide variety of statement-making items, including furniture, decorative accessories, home organisation and home improvement products, from various brands. You can also pick up some stylish furniture for your furry friend here – we especially love the rattan dog beds, which are quite the upgrade from what you’ll find in most pet stores.
IKEA
Of course, no list of furniture stores will be complete without everyone’s DIY favourite, IKEA. From practical storage solutions to bedlinen, kitchen gadgets and flatpack furniture, the store literally stocks everything you can ever need to set up your home. The clever room displays (which also indicates the square meterage of the display) are super helpful when it comes to envisioning set ups and ensuring it will all fit in your new pad without a hitch.
After you’re done choosing everything from your wardrobe to the kitchen sink, make sure you grab some decorative bits, too, making a beeline for the vase collection, which includes the oh-so-pretty räffelbjörk, designed by Lisa Hilland (and now totally Instagram and TikTok famous).

Lucky Furniture
For quirky, colourful handicrafts, you should be headed to Lucky Furniture. The store, which is located in Sharjah, is jampacked with boho-style furniture and décor, including hand-painted ornaments and photo frames, intricately carved wooden headboards, Bohemian patchwork wall hangings, and more – perfect for injecting your space with colour and character. You can also order online should you not want to travel up to Sharjah.

Muji
From furniture to stationary, this Japanese home store has it all. The name translates as “no-brand, quality goods”, and here you will find loads of sleek, minimalist designs on the furniture front, as well as storage solutions and kitchenware in clean and calm neutral hues. The aroma diffusers are popular for good reason.

Pan Home
Another homegrown company, Pan Home (formerly known as Pan Emirates) stocks just about everything you need for every room in the house, from nurseries to home offices, all at great prices (we’re talking sofas and dining sets for under Dhs500). The contemporary designs, huge range and unbeatable prices, makes this a top choice. Plus, the shop offers free home delivery within 48 hours, so setting up your home shouldn’t take long at all.

Pinky Furniture
This furniture store is another great option if your home style is more boho or shabby chic than minimalist and modern. The shop stocks a variety of wood and rattan pieces, from dressers to beds, as well as more rustic-look tables, benches and chairs, shelving units, and grape racks – just add some dried botanicals and you’re all set up here.
The warehouse itself, which has been open since 1989, is in Sharjah (so its well worth combining a trip here with a visit to Lucky Furniture), but you can also order online with delivery to Abu Dhabi.

Pottery Barn
Another upscale import you might recognize from back home is Pottery Barn. The American furniture retailer, which was founded back in 1949, is known for its quality pieces that are made to stand the test of time – aesthetically and functionally.
Whether you choose a few key pieces from here or decorative smalls to update your space, it’s sure to add a stylish touch to your interiors and take your new apartment or villa to the next level in terms of homeliness.

The One
The motto here is that you should love your neighbour but always have more stylish furniture – and we couldn’t agree more. Luckily, finding cool pieces is no problem if you’re shopping at THE One.
The store, which was founded by Swedish entrepreneur Thomas Lundgren in Abu Dhabi back in 1996, stocks everything you may ever need for your home at decent prices, so this is definitely one to check out on your next mall trip.

West Elm
For a touch of designer, head to West Elm. The USA-born store has an in-house design team that creates exclusive, high-end collections for the store. While it might get pricey furnishing your entire home from here, it is well worth investing in a statement piece to elevate your overall scheme. Fans of mid-century furniture in particular will have a field day here, and we’re big fans of the ladder shelves. It’s not a list of best furniture stores in Abu Dhabi without West Elm.

Wood Culture
If you’re looking for some unique wooden furniture pieces for your home, look no further than Wood Culture. The Dubai-based store has a beautiful selection of items, including chairs, tables and shelves, as well as other pretty home décor pieces, which you can comfortably shop online. We especially love their wide range of seating options for both indoors and out, and you will too if you’re a fan of rattan.

Zara Home
Another favourite for home décor is Zara Home. Apart from gorgeous tableware, glassware, vases, lamps and linen, the store also has some great furniture pieces, including chairs and tables. It is a tad more expensive than other chain stores, but the designs are timeless and the quality is great.

Buying secondhand
Shopping secondhand can mean some great bargains if you’re clever and, most importantly, quick about it.
If you want to go this route, the best options are online marketplace Dubizzle (abudhabi.dubizzle.com) and Facebook groups (our top pick is RESOLD, but your local community page is definitely worth a visit), as well as Facebook marketplace.
We’d recommend searching by brand, and if you do find something you like, act fast, as there will no doubt be other bargain hunters eyeing up the same piece. If you want to experience the hunt IRL, there are a number of used furniture stores in Mussafah, as well as the Abu Dhabi Flea Market (although the latter is better for smaller items or clothes).
