Time Out Says

If you fancy ploughing through a load of cakes and sandwiches in a plush, elegant location, head to Saadiyat Island for tea at The Library. Just a few yards from the Park Hyatt’s reception, it’s a tasteful affair, mixing décor more akin to TV show Mad Men with a modern twist and contemporary furniture. Huge bookcases are set snugly into the walls and visitors can enjoy a brew (there are 15 to choose from – we recommend the spicy Chai and the smokey Bohea Lapsang) while reading a wide selection of titles, ranging from Enid Blyton classics to photography books such as The UAE Visions of Change. The soft background jazz also mixes the old with the contemporary (think groovy versions of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’), plus there’s free Wi-Fi and you can even borrow a laptop. The Library High Tea is pricey but more than enough for two people, including a selection of sandwiches, scones and desserts served on two three-tiered stands. And they do a mean, chunky burger if you’re here in the evening.
