Time Out Says
Does it still wow? Is the food still great? The ambiance welcoming and experience outstanding? It’s a high bar that we hold all past winners to.
With Tamba, however, there are never any doubts. We’ve visited this stylish Indian restaurant many a time and it hasn’t disappointed yet.
There’s usually something new on the menu or available at the bar, too, so we never get bored of the place. As you might expect, the venue is still decked out in copper and dimly lit, with an inviting terrace and chilled vibe.
It’s half-full on a weeknight and we take seats next to the open kitchen where we can see the tandoor in action.
We start with the Delhi mix, which is a delightful medley of cooling yoghurt, smokey quinoa and mixed spices. But it’s the quinoa and corn bhajis we fight over. They’re wonderfully crisp and just the right size.
For mains we soak up the buttery daal makhani with garlic naan. The lentils are cooked perfectly. We also tuck into the tiger prawn mirchi, which has four giant prawns in a rich tomato and coconut gravy. Wonderful.
Tamba continues its run of never disappointing. Class, it seems, is permanent.
