Talay still serves some of the best seafood in the city. There’s an air of sophistication about the place that’s alluring and enticing. Even if you’re after something light and simple, Talay has it covered. The traditional mixed vegetable soup with mammoth chunks of broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and mushrooms is a delicious, hearty affair. Try the pad Talay and you’ll be greeted by a delectable selection of shrimp, squid and white fish fused with peppers and spring onion in a thick, gloopy, tangy sauce. And the beverage list is one of the better ones you’ll see. The wait staff are friendly, knowledgeable and more than happy to help you choose your fish, and while you’re waiting for your food, they’ve got a windowed kitchen if you want to see your chef displaying his skills. Failing that, you can always browse Talay’s very
own fish market or even check out the live lobsters in tanks.

Yet there are two notable downsides to this eatery: a distinct lack of choice as far as vegetarian dishes go and the dessert menu is incredibly bland, merely filled with different variations of rice and fruit.

Note: they host a brunch on Tuesdays and Fridays.
