Time Out Says
The amuse-bouche of potato cakes with various chutneys is a welcome tasty bite, and we note that the menu contains some creative plates as well as the classics.
We choose the signature dish of the paneer roulade, and when it’s delivered to the table our immediate thought is that we’ve made a big mistake and somehow ordered pasta instead.
The huge bowl looks like Italian cannelloni, but in fact it features rolls of soft cheese stuffed with sweetcorn and spinach, covered in makhani and spinach sauce. The latter is perhaps a bit sweet for our liking but overall it’s a brilliant and fun idea. It also goes perfectly with our huge pot of chicken biryani (we have enough leftovers to last us days). We ask for it to be prepared to a medium level of spicy and this is certainly enough – unless you’re after something really, really hot. The chicken is nicely marinated and there’s plenty of it, although we might have liked to see a few vegetables mixed in there, too.
But it’s generally all fantastic and even the bread basket is exceptional, with at least four different types to choose from.
It’s really no mystery why this place is so popular.
