Time Out Says
Inside the Abu Dhabi Marina & Yacht Club in the Tourist Club Area, this little Keralayan restaurant is a popular lunchtime hangout for Indian expats. Unlike some other Indian spots, Nalukettu is clean and full of enticing aromas. The food tends to be mellower, softer and more tropical than north Indian cuisine, with curries steeped in coconut milk, and mild pickles, sambal and chutneys making up the rest of the menu. The service staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and the flavours served up are consistently good, with a wide range of dishes offered. There’s also some unusual use of vegetables, such as grated plantain, which adds a refreshing texture to dishes. Some of the offerings, such as the duck, lack quality ingredients and could do with more care and attention when it comes to preparation, but, overall, if you are looking for a cheap pit stop, this restaurant is a resounding success.
