Time Out Says
There’s something comforting about a staple that can take us back 20 years with just one mouthful, so we simply have to try Level Lounge’s version, which comes topped with prawns, guacamole, spring onion and lime zest.
Light but tasty, it’s the perfect starter for a very impressive dining experience at the newly relaunched Crowne Plaza venue.
The chilled poolside lounge is a great place to watch the sun set, and with a varied menu of street food, it’s got substance as well as style.
We can’t decide if we like the braised rib or the queso fundido more. The former, which comes with cheesy fries, is delightfully tender and packed with flavour.
While the latter (tortilla chips with an incredible chorizo-based cheesy dip) takes snacking to another level (see what we did there?). We’ll call it a draw.
The chicken shawarma, however, is disappointing. The wrap falls apart, leaving a mess on our lap. And it lacks the garlic punch we usually love.
The service, while friendly, is a little slow, too. But we can look past these niggles. After all, any meal with a potato waffle is all right in our books.
The bottom line
Great food with a stunning city view.
