Foodlands Restaurant

Popular family spot for Indian, Chinese and Arabic grub

Time Out Says

The name – Foodlands - says it all really. This extensive restaurant boldly attempts Indian, Chinese and Arabic cuisine, and actually doesn’t do too bad a job of any of them. The majority of the menu is made up of classic Indian favourites, such as curries, tandoori grilled meats and some soft and oily breads. The Arabic options are limited, but you can get decent mezze here, served in absolutely colossal amounts and covered in oil and salt – as is the rest of the food for that matter.

In spite of its terrible location on the corner of Airport Road and Electra Street, Foodland’s generous portions and reasonable prices keep the families coming back, so it does get busy at weekends. The furnishings are a little old-fashioned and shabby, but it’s a clean, slick and well-run operation and you won’t be left waiting hungrily for your food no matter how packed it gets.
