Review: Fantastic food and stunning views at an idyllic spot

Time Out Says

There are some places you feel certain you are going to love from the moment you walk through the door.

First impressions aren’t always a guarantee, of course, but we are hooked as soon as soon we set eyes on the Beach Rotana’s refined seafood spot.

The light and airy venue has a cool, laid-back vibe and we quickly ease into an even more relaxed state as we take in the stunning views of a palm tree-lined beach and beautiful turquoise waters outside. There’s a terrace perfect for the cooler weather.

We start off with pan-seared scallops, served with a butter cream that complements the dish beautifully. The scallops are excellent and whet our appetite for the main course. For this we choose the salmon from the “Catch of the Day” menu, which includes a number of tasty looking options put on display in the restaurant.

The salmon is packed with taste, with the flavours enriched by a lovely lemon butter sauce. The sides of chunky chips and broccoli also hit the mark.

We cap off a great meal with an excellent orange and almond cake sprinkled with gold flakes.

It is a stylish extra touch in keeping with a restaurant packed to the brim with class.

The bottom line

A seafood spot you must check out.

A late afternoon seafood brunch sitting over the water. It’s cool, relaxed and serves excellent food. Dine on a seafood tower, main courses, bisque and more.
