Bravo

Review: Great value eatery full of continental charm

Abu Dhabi is undoubtedly a dream for food lovers, who are free to pleasure their palates with an array of terrific tastes spanning the globe.

Whatever your international flavour, however, the dining experience often starts the same; arrive at shiny hotel, go up a lift and enter your restaurant of choice.

So it makes a pleasant change to drop by at Bravo, a cozy Spanish restaurant where you ascend up stairs into a cozy building separate from the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort, on the Corniche.

We feel like we’ve been whisked away to an old-fashioned Spanish resort restaurant when we head inside. This feel translates to the menu, which is bursting with tasty Spanish tapas. You can try a selection of the small dishes by opting for one of several meal deals on offer.

We love the crispy and flavoursome calamari and quickly devour the fresh lobster gratin, sprinkled with cheese. The tender lamb skewers, complete with aromatic yellow rice (it’s down to using saffron), a Spanish staple, is another hit.

You can go on a culinary tour here without breaking the bank. There’s only way word to express our feelings – bravo.

The bottom line
