Grab a bite of The Big Apple in Abu Dhabi

We live the American dream with this pizza at @District BY AMALFI

Fancy paying a visit to The Big Apple without needing to take a big yellow taxi ride (or hop on a plane for that matter)?

A slice of New York life is now being served up in Abu Dhabi at @District BY AMALFI, a revamped eatery in the heart of the five-star Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi.

A fresh take on the popular AMALFI restaurant, you can guess from the name that there are plenty of Italian influences at play here.

But, the relaunched restaurant brings big flavours from Little Italy as well as other New York areas sych as Harlem and the Meatpacking district, with a dash of Amalfi coast-inspired goodness thrown in.

You will be glad to hear that one of the delicious staples topping a menu bursting with more than 40 choices is flavour-packed pizza.

Diners can get their hands on a whole host of funky, signature pizzas, such as the Po’ boy, crammed with crispy prawn tails, tomato, mozzarella and remoulade sauce and The Dog, a New York-inspired pie, topped with chicken sausage, onions, pickled jalapeños, mustard and mozzarella.

If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, why not plump for the Nutella and banana version, roast fig and honey or cinnamon sugar.

You can also come up with your own creation and design your own pizza from a choice of 24 toppings.

Once you’ve had a ‘pizza’ the action, there are plenty of vegetarian, seafood and meat choices to try out too, in a stylish venue bringing unmistakeable New York cool to the capital.

Pizzas from Dhs46. Open daily noon-4pm; 7pm-11pm. Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa Street (800 101 101).
