Abu Dhabi restaurant's VAT-busting offer

Frankie’s Italian Restaurant & Bar will pay the taxes on your meal

There’s no doubt some people have struggled to adjust to the introduction of VAT.

The 5% surcharge bumps bills up that little bit more and adds another calculation to do in your head when you’re managing your money.

But bosses at Frankie’s Italian Restaurant & Bar at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr have decided to make things easier for diners.

They are absorbing the VAT, as well as the 10% service charge, 6% tourism fee and 4% municipality fee, so you can have a few extra dirhams in your pocket.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a pizza lover or a pasta fan, or whether you fancy the risotto over the lasagna.

The taxes will be covered no matter what you order from the menu.

And it also covers the restaurant’s ‘Chef’s Table’ experience, where you can enjoy a 5-course set menu and have the chef explain each dish and share his culinary wisdom with you.

A la carte menu items start from Dhs45 and are available on a daily basis.

The Chef’s Table experience is Dhs234 per person for the special 5-course set menu, or Dhs327 per person with the beverage package.

Open daily, lunch noon-3pm, dinner 6m-1am. Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Khor Al Maqta, Abu Dhabi (02 654 3238).
