A new Italian eatery has come to town, and it serves up one of the tastiest burrata dishes we’ve had in recent memory.
Filini Garden joins the Radisson Blu Hotel Abu Dhabi, Yas Island’s portfolio of outlets, offering a new outdoor hotspot to the hotel’s bevy of super indoor restaurants. Access the two-level venue is via a foliage-lined entrance, which leads onto the Mediterranean-styled lower deck and its lovely vistas. This is where DJs Cliff Townley and Paul Hamilton play chilled-out tunes on Monday’s ladies’ night and Thursday’s gents’ evening (yup, one for you lads).
But it’s on the upper deck where you’ll find the main menu of classic, beautifully presented Italian dishes courtesy of chef Federico Vigilante. Think pizzas and pastas (try the lobster linguine), and this fresh burrata dish. The Italian cheese, imported from Puglia, is served with tart cherry tomatoes, fresh basil leaves and a punchy Ligurian pesto sauce.
Up here you’ll also find the stylish bar, where you can perch yourself on one of the stools and watch the expert mixologists at work. Because, although Filini Garden presents some excellent culinary treats, the carefully crafted mixed drinks are also not to be missed, especially at sundown, when those glorious views over the fairways of Yas Links and the shimmering waters of Al Raha Creek really come to life.
Add to that scene a plate of this burrata, and you’ll have one of the most enjoyable evenings out in town.
