Abu Dhabi foodies are in for a treat after the return of the capital’s biggest food festival was announced.
The annual Abu Dhabi Food Festival (ADFF), organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT), will be back on December 7.
Truckers Carnival that will set up shop for the duration of the ADFF in front of the Marina Mall Eye.
It will feature a fleet of top food trucks, that will change each week and a fun fair-like atmosphere, with games and activities to entertain those who visit, the highlight being the giant inflatable installation Luminarium.
Beach Feast, which doesn’t have a venue yet (but we presume will be on a beach), will bring together food vendors dishing out eats from the Caribbean, such as Jamaica’s jerk chicken and Guyana’s pepperpot stew. There will also be beach games and reggae tunes as entertainment.
Another event, Big Piknik, will make you feel small – because everything in the area will be giant-sized (including a two-metre high ice cream cone and a metre-wide doughnut). There will also be a (regular-sized) organic farmer’s market.
Other parts of the festival will be a Street Food Market, Truckers Park and Delicious Cinema (where you’ll be able to watch foodie movies and eat the dishes at the same time as those on screen do).
There will also be a Top Secret Long Table, which will see 1,000 lucky eaters handpicked to have dinner in an exclusive setting.
