It’s all about the camel burger at Fanr – just make sure it’s in stock before you set out, as they have been known to disappoint a fair few expectant customers. Take time to inspect the display shelves stacked with various preserves and gourmet products, suggesting the kitchen indulges in rich ingredients. It’s a shame, then, that the staff, as polite as they are, prove ill-informed and seem not to have been trained for the job. Yet, if you can get round the fact that you won’t know for sure what’s been used to create your dish, you’ll award top marks to the flavours and presentation. And if they are all out of camel burgers, take heart in the knowledge that their other offerings are pretty good, too.
