Sit down at a table near one of the huge windows of the European-style saloon at Entrecote Café de Paris (it’s the best seat in the house), and the waitress will bring over the smallest restaurant menu you’ve ever seen. There is only one option for starters – a green salad – and three options for mains. Diners must decide between New Zealand, Australian Angus or Japanese wagyu entrecôte that is served with Café de Paris sauce and unlimited chips. The food is delicious, though, especially when allied with the legendary house condiment. Ludicrously thick and decadent, it is a creamy, buttery sauce that packs intense flavours of mustard, pepper and herbs. Your doctor won’t approve, but you won’t care. There is a dessert menu, which offers French classics that are magnifique as well.
