Time Out Says
Hidden among a maze of thoroughfares off Sheikh Zayed Street, this unassuming but wonderfully welcoming Ethiopian eatery will leave even the biggest appetites satisfied. Stews and curries rule the roost here, with each meal served on a plate of injera, a traditional sourdough bread. Order a Bonna Annee special and you’ll be treated to a sample of each house signature dish, all mopped up with chunk after chunk of the extremely moreish injera. The gomen be sega is another winner, consisting of delicious beef cubes with sautéed collards, onions garlic and ginger; a truly delicious dish. If you’re worried about bones in your meal then stick to the vegetarian options, but either way, after getting your hand dirty at Bonna Annee for the first time, you’ll keep coming back for more great value dishes.
