Biella

Italian-inspired alternative to fast food court dining

Time Out Says

From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
True, this is a chain restaurant (a new branch was about to open at Abu Dhabi Mall as we went to press), but Biella at least knows how to please. It’s a dash more formal than you might expect, given its mall setting, but for those after some good Italian cooking to sustain a consumer assault, this is certainly one of the better options. The décor is habitually simple and straight forward; the menu likewise offers up a steady diet of classic dishes with the occasional twist. The homemade ravioli with pumpkin amaretti biscuit and parmesan stuffing is delicious and a little out of the ordinary.

We’re not saying it’s all gourmet, but for a quick fix, it’s a lot more than you’d expect. The pizzas are also pretty good too – it is rumoured to even be H.E Sheikh Mohammad’s favourite take out spot. Well, he’s ordered from there a few times, or so it goes. Nevertheless, royal approval aside, there is nothing truly astonishing about Biella, nor is it as cheap as you’d hope, but you’ll not leave unsatisfied and that’s the true test.
