Time Out Says
While there’s a fairly solid sushi menu, the real reason people come to Benihana is for its teppanyaki dishes. The deal comes with a couple of sides including a soup, starter and salad and green tea, too. All you need to do is pick your preferred protein (from a list including some pretty good Japanese steaks) and then watch the cheerful crew engage you in their slapstick-style tricks as they cook the meat, prawns, rice and vegetables on the searing grill in front of you.
But don’t worry. It’s not all about the gimmicks here. The food is actually really good, too, and if the teppanyaki hasn’t filled you up completely, make sure you order the cheesecake gyoza for dessert and come and thank us later.
There are loads of places to eat in Beach Rotana, and we recommend them all, but for a real fun experience Benihana is the place. Probably more suited to bigger groups than couples, it’s the ideal place to head to celebrate a special occasion.
The bottom line
More fun dining than fine dining, but that’s okay with us.
