Time Out Says
From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010Like Pearls and Caviar, its near neighbour, Al Hanah is not short on glitz. Situated in a side annex of the lobby lounge, it is distinct enough in design to feel as though you’ve walked into an exclusive nightclub. A cascade of sparkling glass spills from the ceiling to the floor, flooding the fine line between glam and seedy in a shower of ostentation. The table that hogs the corner window is the best spot, looking out over Maqta Creek to the Grand Mosque, but you’ll need to get here early as the bar fills up quickly and it’s more than likely that you’ll find yourself back out in the lounge.
Serving perfectly adequate bar food, the only hesitation you might have is in paying Dhs70 for an absolutely normal plate of fish and chips, but it’s served politely and – lounge or otherwise – it’s obvious you’re paying for your surroundings. Coffee and cake is done very nicely, as you might expect from an opulent hotel lounge, and if that’s all you want from your evening, then you can’t go very far wrong with Al Hannah.
