Time Out Says
This Pakistani restaurant is just behind the famous Eldorado cinema on Electra Street and has a pretty cheerless, old fashioned exterior. Inside it’s equally sparse; the tables just decorated with polystyrene cups and tissue boxes. Don’t be surprised to find the place full of guys getting stuck into mounds of fried rice and curry with plenty of gusto. Female diners can expect to be hastily ushered upstairs to the family room, which is small and plain with closed curtains sternly blocking out any potential flecks of sunlight. The wait staff are on the ball and helpful, remembering to check how spicy you want each dish, and food normally arrives within an astounding five minutes. But even taking into account Al Fujairah’s low prices, the food is still less than impressive. The pros? Portions are huge and filling. The cons? It’s pretty sloppy fare, and neighbouring restaurants serve up versions of an almost identical menu, yet they do so a whole lot better.
