Al Fresco, Abu Dhabi
Time Out Says
And thanks to perfect weather conditions, that’s exactly what we’ve decided to do today.
Al Fresco is a cosy lunch spot with a small but diverse menu. They offer a variety of salads, sandwiches and Mexican cuisine. To start off, we share a light watermelon and goat’s cheese salad with our guest. While this dish primarily only consists of two ingredients, Al Fresco manage to put a unique spin on it by adding rocket, lettuce, caramelized walnuts, lavash and balsamic reduction. It’s devoured within minutes.
For mains we have the grilled chicken breast, which we request with steamed vegetables instead of rice. While the veggie portion is a bit small, the chicken is a treat. Taking pride in its Mexican cuisine, the waiter suggests that our guest tries their signature chicken quesadilla.
Sadly, the quesadilla is small, slightly bland and completely unremarkable. It’s certainly not worthy of a main meal.
Dissapointing Mexican aside, the rest of our orders combined with the picturesque views make this a worthy spot for a little light lunch.
The bottom line Light grub in a relaxing setting.
