Abu Dhabi Restaurant Week: Li Jiang

We know that going out to restaurants is one of the main hobbies of everyone here in Abu Dhabi.

A big reason for that is due to the sheer number of incredible places to eat in the capital.

Well, the dining scene just got that little bit more exciting thanks to the introduction of Abu Dhabi Restaurant Week powered by Time Out Abu Dhabi.

It’s part of Abu Dhabi Food Festival, one of the capital’s most popular annual events.

Between December 6 and 15, some of the city’s finest eateries will be offering special set menus, giving foodies the chance to sample some of the best food around for either Dhs99, Dhs149 or Dhs199.

The bumper list of capital favourites includes the ultra-slick Li Jiang.

This upmarket restaurant serves some of the best South-East Asian food in town.

The Restaurant Week menu features three courses of tasty exotic delights.

The sesame prawn toast, gong bao chicken and lime sago and lemongrass crème brûlée are just some of the many star turns on offer.

First course

Beijing style seafood dumpling with crispy shallots and ginger soya
Hot and sour chicken broth with tofu, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and egg white
Sesame prawn toast with coriander, spring onions and white and black sesame seed

Second course

Gong bao chicken, pepper, cashew nut, onion, lotus root and dried chilli
Szechuan-style hammour fillet with mushrooms, broccoli, Chinese celery, black beans and Szechuan chilli
Black-pepper beef with peppers, onion, fried garlic and youtiao

Third course

Mango and mint chilled soup with coconut milk and vanilla ice cream
Lime sago and lemongrass crème brûlée
Vanilla or raspberry ice cream deep fried with warm Tainori Valrhona chocolate sauce.
