One of Mexico’s finest chefs is coming to Abu Dhabi.
Federico Lopez will be cooking up a spicy storm at Sayad, in honour of the Central American country’s national day.
The celebrated chef, one of the most successful in Mexico, with a list of accolades and TV appearances that is longer than most menus, will provide gastronomes with a true flavour of his home country over a special menu that is available between September 16 and 21.
Based in Cancun since 2004, his interpretation of Mexican gastronomy combines the traditional Mayan flavors of the Yucatán Peninsula with a contemporary approach.
Featuring numerous exciting ceviche’s, tostadas, and tamales, the menu includes a black recaudo tuna tostada ceviche and squash carpaccio, signature tik-in-xic snapper with Mayan salsa and sweet Tabascan chocolate, cinnamon and spiced mousse.
The Mexican ambassador and delegates from the Mexican embassy will be in attendance for an extra-special dinner at the Emirates Palace eatery on September 19, the national day itself.
So, if you want to find out about real Mexican cuisine, and banish the memories of soggy nachos and limp fajitas, make a date with this top chef at one of the most luxurious addresses in the city.
Price varies. Sep 16-21, 6.30pm-11.30pm. Sayad, Emirates Palace, West Corniche (02 690 7999).
