Five unmissable Abu Dhabi Iftars to try this weekend

Great venues to break your fast in style

Ramadan
Going out for Iftar is a popular activity during Ramadan in Abu Dhabi.
There are lots of venues to break your fast in style with gorgeous food and beautiful surroundings.
And with Eid just around the corner, you don't have much time to try these amazing feasts.

Here are five of our favourites for you to try this weekend.

Biryani Pot

It’s an accepted wisdom that biryani is one of the most popular Iftar dishes.
It’s a favourite all-year-round but it seems to be an ever-popular choice during Ramadan every year too.
And we don’t think you should accept anything but the best.
There’s a reason why Indian eatery Biryani Pot continues to soar in popularity and that’s because it does amazing food. It’s that simple.
So we definitely recommend you put it on your Iftar wishlist this Ramadan.
The casual spot in The Galleria is serving an Iftar combo including the restaurant’s best-selling dishes.
It’s the perfect spot to enjoy some fine food and good company in a relaxed setting this Holy Month.

Jing Asia

Yas Island is a hive of activity right now, with a string of amazing new projects coming up to add to the world-class facilities it already boasts.
The likes of Ferrari World, Yas Marina and (soon) Warner Bros. World make the district a great place to be seen.
And where better than the delicious all-day dining outlet Jing Asia in the awesome Crowne Plaza Yas Island?
The chic eatery is throwing lavish feasts for you to break your fast this Ramadan.
Expect a whole host of signature dishes, as well as a stunning Arabic buffet.
The restaurant’s cool décor will add a stylish touch as you treat yourself to a memorial Iftar with your family and friends.
Make Jing Asia your go-to choice this Ramadan, you won’t regret it.

Layali Al Baraka

For many, Ramadan is a time of reflection, prayer and giving to the less fortunate.
This Holy Month, you can help make a difference when you’re choosing which Iftar if you make your way to the awesome Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.
It goes without saying that dining in a capital landmark as grand as this will be an unforgettable experience.
But if you enjoy an Iftar at Layali Al Baraka, you can do your bit for charity while breaking your fast.
This special Ramadan venue is serving a traditional buffet and has live cooking stations including a seafood grill and saj bread counter.
For every Iftar, the hotel will donate Dhs1 to the Make A Wish Foundation charity, which helps give poorly children incredible experiences.
What a lovely gesture.

Dhs175. Sunset-9pm. Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, West Corniche (02 811 5666).

Sofra bld

The ultra-plush Shangri-La Hotel is sure to be one of the capital’s most popular venues this Ramadan with a huge line-up of events.
And it is pulling out all the stops for an unmissable Iftar to enjoy with your friends and family.
Ever-popular restaurant Sofra bld offers a grand Iftar from sunset until 8pm with a wide range of local favourites and staple foods.
Make the most of the special time of year with Arabic coffee, Arabian decor and a dedicated service staff.
It’s the perfect place to break your fast in luxurious surroundings with some great company.

Tamba

When you break your fast during Ramadan, it’s worth doing it with some amazing food.
And we don’t think anyone will disagree that award-winning Indian eatery Tamba has some incredible dishes.
We reckon the ever-popular venue’s Iftar is well worth a visit this Ramadan.
A set menu that takes you through the restaurant’s wonderful array of delicious dishes.
The eatery, based in The Hub at The Mall, World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi, is a great choice for some fine dining throughout the year.
But we definitely recommend you put it on your to-do list this Ramadan too.
