This year, a range of venues will be pulling out at the stops and offering luxurious surroundings for iftar.

Here are some of our favourites from across the city.

Al Andalus Tent
The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr’s tent is always one of the most stunning in the capital and this year it can hold more than 500 people. There’s a buffet offering that includes a huge array of Middle Eastern dishes, water, juices and Ramadan drinks.

Al Tasamoh Tent
Gather your family and experience iftar around 600 other people at the Al Tasamoh Tent, where you can break your fast with traditional Middle Eastern food, visit live cooking stations, enjoy sweet treats and listed to live oud music after the sun has set.

Emirates Palace
This is one of the fanciest iftar experiences in the capital, and it really has to be seen to be believed. It all takes place within the grand Ramadan Pavilion out on terrace, where guests are treated to tremendous views over the private beach. As you watch the sunset with your family and friends, you can work your way through the incredible spread of Arabic plates and international cuisines, visit the many live stations and treat yourself to a dessert or two.

Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana
Embrace the spirit of the season and enjoy traditional Arabian hospitality inside the Khaymetna tent where you can break your fast with a buffet featuring a range of Middle Eastern specialities and favourites.

Layali Al Baraka
Set under an ornate installation, this is a very special iftar venue. The spread includes Middle Eastern recipes and there’s also a whole hour of live music from an oud player.

Layali El Hilmiya
Enjoy a lavish spread at Layali El Hilmiya where guests can take their pick from a total of 300 different dishes, including Middle Eastern and international favourites, with buffet stations and food trucks serving dishes after the sun goes down. There’s also a 25 percent discount if you book before May 5.

Radisson Blu Tent

This impressive tent houses a sumptuous buffet which stars traditional favourites like lamb ouzi, harees, malfouf and sweet desserts such as kunafa and bavlava. If that’s not enough, there’s also a date display and refreshing Ramadan beverages.

Saraya Tent
Enjoy an à la carte menu of delicious plates or a set menu of family favourites. It’s all served in the traditional Ramadan tent, or out in the pleasant outdoor area.
