Al Maya Island pool parties are back

The popular weekly bash on a remote private island returns

It’s time to dust off your best swimwear and set sail for a massive weekly pool party in Abu Dhabi.

This Friday, March 9, sees the much-anticipated return of the popular Al Maya Island parties, which see scores of revellers flock to the remote private island.

The season opener of Maya Fridays this week has a stellar line-up of DJs who will provide the backdrop for the sun-soaked partying.

DJs Matt Jones, Chad Phunk and Stew Magoo will take to the decks between 11am and 9pm.

An afternoon at Al Maya begins by catching a boat from a dock next to the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana (opposite Emirates Palace) and taking a 20-minute jaunt over to Al Maya Resort, a truly isolated spot on an island off the coast of the Corniche.

Ladies get free entry before 1pm, while airline staff get free entry before 2pm.

A standard ticket costs Dhs125 and includes one drink.

A strict door policy of couples and mixed sex groups only ensures a good mix of fun-loving people above the age of 21.

Guests can soak up rays on a sun loungers, sit around the poolside bar smoking shisha, hit the dance floor or jump into the massive pool and socialise around the swim-up bar.

Boats to and from the venue start from 11am and run every 20 minutes.

Private boats will be charged a parking fee of Dhs500 per Boat and jet skis will be charged Dhs200 each.
