The Infinite Music of French Horn Rebellion
4/5

This debut makes a bewildering first listen, but persevere. These 14 tracks embrace proggy psychedelia (‘Geomancer’s Compass’), ’70s-leaning, funkadelic nu-disco ‘This Moment’, new-wave dream-pop (‘Last Summer’) and glitchy digi-ruckus tendencies (‘Mawson’s Peak’ and ‘Brasilia Girl’). The musical spread is so warp-speed eclectic, it’s hard to believe that one of the duo – who does indeed play the French horn – was once in a Ben Folds Five covers band. Just check out their videos particularly ‘Up All Night’, Williamsburg version, for further evidence of this duo’s cheeky panache.
