When it comes to live music, we are really spoilt for choice. And guess what? Wireless Festival is making its way to the capital.
That’s right, Wireless Festival Abu Dhabi 2023 will be arriving in the UAE capital in March, and with it a whole host of incredible international talent.
Wireless Festival first launched in 2005 at London’s Hyde Park, and has become one of the most popular rap and urban music festivals around the globe. To date, it’s attracted some of the world’s biggest artists, including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Stormzy.
Wondering what to expect ahead of the inaugural event in Abu Dhabi? Here’s everything you need to know.
When is Wireless Festival coming to Abu Dhabi?
Wireless Festival Abu Dhabi will be taking place on Saturday March 11, 2023.
Where is Wireless Festival Abu Dhabi taking place?
The festival will be held at Etihad Park on Yas Island.
Who will be performing?
American rapper Travis Scott will be headlining, and there will also be performances from Lil Uzi Vert, Wegz, Black Sherif, Ali Gatie, King, Divine and Young Stunners.
The second headliner announcement revealed that Scott would be joined by British rapper M.I.A. (yes, that’s the one who sings Paper Planes), as well as American rapper Raja Kumari, Saudi Arabian rapper $kinny, Dizzytooskinny, Dafencii, Casa Vince, DJ Nico, and DJ Liutik.
Travis Scott first shot to fame in 2016 with the song Antidote, and has since released huge hits such as Highest in the Room, while fans of Lil Uzi Vert can expect the rapper to perform songs like Just Wanna Rock, 20 Min and Money Longer.
Wireless Festival will also be a platform for regional talent. Wegz, who performed the official World Cup 2022 song Ezz El Arab (Arab Glory) and is one of the most established Egyptian trap artists of his generation, will be there on March 11, as will Ghanaian singer and rapper Black Sherif.
