With many children undertaking remote learning, self-isolating and staying home, parents can struggle to come up with ideas for things to do.

There’s no substitute for outdoor play when it comes to burning off energy and keeping little ones busy.

While the mercury is beginning to rise as the peak temperatures of summer arrive in the UAE, there’s still opportunities to play outside during the cooler hours of the day.

Helping children get outside, Abu Dhabi Municipality has announced the completion of 51 new play areas across the city.

The Dhs19m project has seen new play multi-purpose play areas open across Abu Dhabi with the aim encouraging children to ‘adopt a healthy and sporting lifestyle’.

Parks now open include mini football playgrounds, fitness and exercise equipment, fountains, playground for people of determination and more.
