Abu Dhabi road tolls to remain free until the end of 2020

Road tolls were announced in Abu Dhabi in late 2019 and back in January, The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) announced a three-month grace period to allow drivers to register their vehicle.

So far this year, drivers passing through the toll system have not faced charges.

Now, Abu Dhabi Government has announced that all vehicles will be exempt from road tolls and registration fees until the end of 2020.

Emiratis over 60, people of determination, limited-income Emiratis and Emirati retirees are already exempted from toll charges, as well as licensed taxis in Abu Dhabi, tow trucks, public buses and school buses.
