Abu Dhabi breaks a new Guinness World Record

Abu Dhabi, and the UAE in general, is multicultural place.

Every day we meet and interact with people from all over the world and that’s one of the things we love most about calling Abu Dhabi our home.

Demonstrating how multi-cultural the city is, a popular sports bar recently set a new world record.

Velocity, At Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi, has set the Guinness World Record for the most nationalities at a dance party.

A total of 66 different nationalities were represented at a recent dance party in the venue, breaking the previous record of 50.

“Months of planning and ensuring that we could achieve the goal was an experience to reckon with,” said general manager Stefan Soennichsen.

“We couldn’t have done it without the spirit of the residents of United Arab Emirates and our colleagues from Marriott Hotels in the UAE who willingly participated in this historical event.

“Each one’s enthusiasm and support at the event was absolutely amazing.”

The venue was presented with their official certificate which you can check out the next time you head there on a night out.

Velocity has also recently launched a weekly karaoke night (https://www.timeoutabudhabi.com/bars-nightlife/426548-abu-dhabi-sports-b...) that you can check out every Monday.

We think it’s pretty cool.
