UAE announces plans for new five-year tourist visa

There’s set to be a change to the UAE’s tourist visa system, with a new multi-entry five-year visa.

Tourists can currently visit the UAE with a free multi-entry visa for up to 90 days from the date arrival.

Today (Monday January 6) HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the UAE's Prime Minister and Vice President and Ruler of Dubai revealed on Twitter that the visa had been approved at the UAE Cabinet’s first 2020 meeting.

Sheikh Mohammed said the move aimed to establish the UAE, which has around 21 million international visitors each year, as a "major global tourism destination".

It's unclear if there will be a fee for the new visa.
